Stop calling it healing
In the mental emotional, therapy, personal development world we have a fundamental misunderstanding of what healing is
We talk about healing our wounds, healing our trauma, healing our relationship with money, on and on.
And the subtext, the unspoken outcome we seek, seems to be a complete lack of feeling.
Like you’ll only be healed when you don’t ever experience discomfort.
And that’s bull shit. Life is uncomfortable.
So sure, there are some things you need to heal. But maybe what we are referring to as healing is actually more akin to humaning.
Learning how to navigate the ebbs and flows of life, embodied to our sensational experience, and capable of surfing the wave.
The goal is not the absence of discomfort; it’s the ability to navigate it.
